The Baby Cries: Production Management

Image
On January 5th 2013, The Baby Cries began principle photography. Through an exhaustive pre-production process, the production management team began to roll out the plans that were initiated months ago. Producers Kristen Wair and Mario J. Novoa worked for a number of weeks to cover logistics using an online production management platform called  lightspeedeps.com  that helped guide schedule, contact information and crew responsibilities. Using this online platform allowed production crew "real time" access to vital information regarding the  film shoot. As we move into the post-production phase, we are still using this platform to gain insight into the management side and to understand how to efficiently run future production schedules. Having information available to all crew is an essential tool to making sure communication is available at all levels. As small as our indie production was, the production ran very efficiently and allowed for necessary changes on the set. It

Depeche Mode's Heaven

Image
Depeche Mode's new single Heaven came out last week. I'm in love with Heaven. Musically DM has moved from synth to rock, and rock to synth...changing their tempo and tone. Having listened to their last album "Sounds of the Universe"non-stop since its release, I notice that DM enjoys changing their music. Changing it in ways that really keeps their original style and evolves into something uniquely their own, while playing homage to the blues genre. Heaven is another piece of art in the same evolutionary style. Heaven plays beautifully with such deep passion. It's a song that is hard to leave after you hear it. The new Depeche Mode album is called Delta Machine and is available on 3.26.13 Picture from Facebook http://www.depechemode.com

Movies Are Like Dreams

Image
Are your dreams ever boring? Are they full of ecstasy, fear, sorrow or laughter? Dreams linger on in your mind, just like a movie. Movies are fluid. Movies like Dreams continuously fulfill a part of our psyche that excites us. Movies put us in another state of mind and transports us into a dreamlike state. Alfred Hitchcock (one my favorite film directors) once said "Drama is life with the dull parts cut out of it. I believe that this statement is true for dreams. Dreams are so dynamic that they stay with us for awhile, if not a lifetime. Movies are the Myths of our times.  "Myths are public dreams; dreams are private myths. By finding your own dream and following it through, it will lead you to the myth-world in which you live. But just as in dream, the subject and object, though they seem to be separate, are really the same.",  Joseph Campbell.  We are transformed through dreams and movies, rarely bored...full of ecstasy, fear, sorrow and laughter. We are
